Every 25th of November, all government agencies are mandated to raise awareness on the problem of violence and eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls.

LCWD took part in this campaign by having activities such as wearing of orange color attire, distributed giveaways for consumers and employees, hanging of streamer in LCWD premises, and also thru online participation.

Office personnel were encouraged to wear orange color attire on November 25 and December 9, 2022.

An infographic on Violence Against Women (VAW) and LCWD’s efforts to support Anti-VAW efforts was posted at LCWD’s GAD Board located beside the office entrance for employees to read. The infographic also contained the official logo for the 2022 18-Day Campaign to End VAW and quotes for women empowerment.

A 2-hour orientation regarding Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act), Republic Act 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) and Anti-Trafficking in Persons laws was also conducted. The GAD committee invited Atty. Ivy-Lynn Raguindin-De Leoz, OIC-Administrative Services Department, and Atty. Jhomel M. Armecin, Department Manager B – Finance Services Department, as speakers for the said orientation.

LCWD will continue to support the annual campaign to prevent violence that has been occurring in different environments and to help women and children to be heard for their right to live in peace.
