Through a series of virtual trainings, USAID provides technical support to the Legazpi City Water District (LCWD) in applying the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) to enhance their management and operations.
On August 10, 2020, Legazpi City Water District’s (LCWD) GIS team demonstrated to the water district’s key officials the GIS competencies they acquired as a result of the technical assistance provided by USAID through a series of training and workshops since March 2020.
As part of USAID’s ongoing assistance, USAID facilitated a follow-through meeting between LCWD and two of the country’s major digital payment service providers PayMaya and ECPay/GCash on August 12, 2020 to discuss the services and requirements of both companies.
On August 17, 2020, the Information Technology team of LCWD presented the first draft of its check-digit algorithm for electronic payment to LCWD General Manager James Esplana for validation of business rules, with the continuous technical assistance from USAID.
