The Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) marked its 48th Anniversary on August 31, 2022, under the theme “PAWD @48: Embracing the Challenges for a Better Environment in the New Normal.”
As a highlight of their celebration, PAWD extended invitations to water districts nationwide, urging them to participate in a kick-off project that involved synchronized activities beneficial to the environment. The collective initiative aimed not only to commemorate the occasion but also to raise awareness about the crucial need to protect our natural resources.
In response to this call, the Legazpi City Water District (LCWD) actively contributed by planting 60 indigenous and fruit-bearing trees, including Narra, Santol, and Baligang, at Barangay Cagbacong. This symbolic act aligns with PAWD’s mission of embracing environmental challenges and underscores LCWD’s commitment to sustainable practices and ecological preservation.
